This half term, our exciting topic is “Who is a Hero?” as we explore both fictional superheroes and the real-life heroes who make a difference in our world.

In English, we will be inspired by the text Supertato by Sue Hendra  as we learn to write about our own supertato creations. We will also be writing clear and detailed instructions for making a delicious crumble, while also thinking about the important roles of real-life superheroes within our community.

In Maths, we will develop our understanding of place value and numbers to 20, addition and subtraction, comparing numbers using more and less, length, and 2D and 3D shapes.

In History, we will discover the inspiring life of Florence Nightingale and explore how her work helped to shape history and improve healthcare. Our DT learning will be wonderfully hands-on as we design and make our own tasty crumbles! In Science, we will learn all about the human body and investigate our five senses. Finally, in Art, we will explore the work of famous superhero comic artists and use their ideas to inspire our own superhero artwork.

It promises to be a fun-filled half term of learning, creativity and discovering what it really means to be a hero!
