Last Wednesday Year 1 enjoyed a sunny day out at Hillier Gardens in Romsey. The children experienced lots of different activities. They identified tree leaves and learnt if they were evergreen or deciduous. The children enjoyed the bean survival game learning about the conditions of a seed and what it needs to grow. A trip around the gardens saw them looking at the big pond and fish, a beautiful variety of flowers and a trip under the bamboo and over the wibbly wobbly bridge. Beatrice Bee taught the children all about how flowers are pollinated. The children really enjoyed their time in the herb garden picking and smelling the herbs to stick on their caterpillars. Just before leaving, Mrs Trenchard and Miss Hayward were told how well behaved the children were and how much the leaders had enjoyed the day.
